Updating the latest Titanium SDKs in Titanium Studio

Titanium Studio will automatically check for the existence of Titanium Mobile and Titanium Desktop SDKs.  If none are available, Titanium Studio automatically downloads the latest SDKs.

When there are updates available for the latest SDKs, a popup will appear on the bottom right corner of Titanium Studio (shown below).  Clicking on the popup will trigger an update of the latest Titanium SDKs.

You can also manually check for updates by going to Help > Check for Titanium SDK Updates.

Manually downloading Titanium SDKs from a URL

To manually download other versions of Titanium SDKs, go to Help > Install Titanium SDK from URL.  A wizard should appear that prompts the user for an SDK url .  Fill in the SDK url field with the url to download either a Titanium Desktop or Titanium Mobile SDK.  If you are hosting or creating your own SDK versions, see below for some notes on ensuring those work correctly.

Hit Finish and Titanium Studio will automatically download the file and unpack it in the appropriate directory.

SDK .zip file structure

In order to properly determine if an item is a mobile or desktop SDK, it relies on the zip file having a specific structure.

SDK .zip files are laid out in a specific pattern. In order for Titanium Studio tooling to recognize them, they must follow the following conventions.:

.zip root

.zipped up as

.zip root

.zipped up as

Default Titanium SDK Directories
