This is a collaborative wiki page to coordinate the mobile effort from our side.  Please keep it up-to-date.

Thanks Appcelerator

Origin of app name 'Aidori'

  • The name of this app 'Aidori' is dialect word of Tohoku district, the area devastated by earthquake.
  • The meaning of 'Aidori' is "work alongside", "having help from people", and traced to Kamakura period which is approximately 800 years ago.
  • 'Aidori' also has a meaning of work role of assistant in making rice-cake, which is traditional Japanese food.
  • Since 'Aidori' has such a important role in rice-cake making, people say "Thank Aidori, rice-cake is delicious this year".

Datasource / Stuff to mobilize / Ideas:

  1. http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nn20110313b2.html
  2. take the interaction.org request for charities and make that mobile (that is the "official" way that US folks have been instructed by USAID to give to charities working on the ground) - interaction.orgのチャリティーをmobileから行えるようにする?
  3. incorporate the Red Cross and the Japan Times local information - 赤十字とJapan Timesの地域情報を提供する - Japan Times
  4. add an iReporter piece to that and open up the data so that anyone can pull from it - iReporter の機能を加えて、誰でもデータを引き出せるようにする iReporter
  5. Can we use the Red Cross demo app (Ti+Commerce) as starting point for donations - 赤十字の募金を行えるようにする
  6. Japan - Social Media, Quake, and Nuclear Facilities
  7. http://geocommons.com/maps/57177 Tweets and Shelters
